What is a Charismatic Prayer Group (maybe not what you think?)

The Charismatic Prayer Group is a group of people trying to live an intimate relationship

with God in today's modern world. Our Lady of Victories Charismatic Prayer Group was established in 1973 and has been meeting every Tuesday night since then; Rain, Hail, Shine! We come together to honour God, in praise, worship, and prayer, and listen to Him in silence. 

Jesus gave us the Words of Life... a promise made by our God, the One who made us.

“To the thirsty I will give water without price from the fountain of the water of life “ (Rev 21:6)

“Anyone who drinks the water that I shall give will never be thirsty again: the water that I shall

give will turn into a “Spring” inside them, welling up to eternal life (John 4:14)....

That “Spring” inside us is The Holy Spirit 🔥

Prayer Groups worldwide, are the work of the Holy Spirit and sprung from the Charismatic

Renewal, based on the Scripture: “For where two or more are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them" (Matt 18:20)

The Prayer Group exists to enable its members to grow, and support each other in living their

lives in the Spirit and deepening their relationship with God. God loves us. He wants us to live in union with Him He wants us to share a deep personal relationship with Him.

There are no prerequisites for coming to the Prayer group. Some people have come to the Prayer group through Parish programmes, like OCIA, Alpha, Following Christ, “Life in the Spirit”, or from other Faiths and Denominations, and some have just wandered in off the street! Everyone is welcome regardless of age , who you are, where you have come from, or your background. God loves us. He wants us to live in union with Him He wants us to share a deep personal relationship with Him

What is a Prayer meeting?

The Prayer meeting is the weekly gathering of the Prayer Group Community. It's not just saying prayers, as you may think, but Praise and Worship ( Joyful songs ), Teaching, Sharing, Spontaneous Prayer, Healing and Intercessory Prayer, and Fellowship all play a part.

Supporting each other and building up the Body of Christ is the aim of the prayer meeting. We come together to honour God, In praise, worship, and prayer, and listen to Him in silence. God speaks to us through His Spirit and the ways that God speaks to us are given great honour and attention.
